Privacy Policy
1.Introduction
This policy describes how information is handled when you use the Quit SweetAndroid application and this official website. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past, so it states plainly what happens to what you type in.
- Application: Quit Sweet: Sugar Tracker
- Developer and publisher: Syed Shahbaz Hussain
- Contact: support@syedshahbazhussain.com
By using the app or this website you agree to the handling of information described here. The Terms of Use cover the separate question of how the app itself may be used.
2.Information entered into the app
Quit Sweet is a habit tracker, so nearly everything it holds is something you chose to type in. You may voluntarily enter:
- Goal preferences
- Which goal mode you choose: quit sweets, reduce gradually, or stay within a daily limit.
- Baseline and target
- Roughly how many sweets you have now, and the target you set yourself.
- Sweet logs
- The category and serving size of a sweet, with the date and time of the entry.
- Estimated sugar and cost
- Optional numbers you may add to an entry. Both can be left blank.
- Craving records
- Craving intensity, an optional trigger, and the outcome you record.
- Mood and energy
- Optional 1–5 ratings attached to a check-in or a sweet entry.
- Daily check-ins
- One reflection per local calendar day, covering mood, energy and craving level.
- Motivation
- What matters to you, common triggers, and an optional personal note.
- Notes
- Free text you may attach to a sweet entry or a craving record.
- Reminder preferences
- Which reminder categories are enabled and the times you chose.
- Currency and spending
- An optional weekly spending figure and currency code, used only for the money-saved estimate.
All of this information is stored locally on your device. None of it is required to install or open the app, and any individual field can be left blank.
3.Information the app does not collect remotely
Quit Sweet does not intentionally transmit your habit-tracking entries to the developer or to any remote server. Your logs, cravings, check-ins and goals are not uploaded, synced or backed up to us.
The app does not require any of the following:
- Account creation, sign-in or a user profile
- Your name
- An email address for normal use of the app
- A phone number
- Precise or background location
- Access to your contacts
- An advertising identifier
This statement covers the application itself and what the developer receives. It is not a claim about the Android operating system, your device manufacturer, or Google Play, each of which operates under its own terms and privacy policy and may collect information independently of this app.
4.Local storage
Your entries are saved in on-device storage belonging to the app, using a local database on your phone or tablet.
- The data remains until you delete it, clear the application's storage, or uninstall the app.
- Whether a copy is included in a device backup depends on your Android settings and your Google backup configuration. That behaviour is controlled by your device and your Google account, not by this app.
- Because the developer holds no copy, records you delete locally cannot be restored or recovered by us.
5.Notifications
Reminders are entirely optional and off until you choose to enable one.
- Android notification permission is requested only when you enable your first reminder.
- Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. Nothing is pushed from a server.
- You can change reminder times, disable individual categories, or turn reminders off completely from within the app.
- You can also revoke notification permission at any time in Android settings.
- Notification permission is not required to use the core tracker — declining it leaves every other feature working.
6.Exporting information
The app lets you export your records so that your data remains genuinely yours.
- An export happens only after you directly request one. Nothing is exported automatically or in the background.
- You choose the destination or the receiving application when you export.
- Once an export leaves the app, the copy is handled by whichever application, service or storage location you selected, under that provider's own privacy practices and terms — not under this policy.
- For that reason, please choose a destination you trust, particularly if your notes contain anything personal.
7.Support communications
Contacting support opens a message in your own email application. Nothing is sent until you send it.
- When you email support, the developer receives whatever you choose to include: your email address, your message, and any optional technical details such as app version, Android version or device model.
- Your habit records are not automatically attached to a support message. If you choose to paste or attach an export yourself, that content becomes part of the email you send.
- Support messages are retained only as reasonably necessary to respond to you, maintain support records, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
The support page shows exactly what each pre-filled message contains before you send it.
8.Website data
This website is a small set of static pages. It:
- Does not require an account and has no login
- Does not currently use advertising trackers
- Does not currently use analytics cookies
- Does not ask you to submit any form
Like virtually all hosted websites, the hosting provider may record standard technical server logs when a page is requested. These typically include an IP address, a user agent string, the time of the request and the URL requested. Where such logs exist, they are used for security, reliability and ordinary hosting operations.
We state this rather than claiming that no logs exist at all, because standard server logging is a normal part of web hosting and it would be misleading to imply otherwise.
9.Third-party platforms and services
The app and website interact with a small number of third parties, listed here only because they are genuinely involved:
- Google Play. The app may be downloaded through Google Play. Google Play and the Android operating system are operated by Google under their own terms and privacy policies, and any information they collect is governed by those, not by this policy.
- A destination you choose when exporting. If you share an export through another application or service, that application processes the shared copy independently.
- The website hosting provider. May process basic technical logs as described in the previous section.
- Your email provider. Involved only if you choose to contact support.
No advertising network, analytics provider, crash-reporting service or data broker is integrated into the application.
10.Data sharing and sale
With respect to information controlled by this app and its developer:
- Your habit-tracking information is not sold.
- It is not rented or licensed to anyone.
- It is not used for targeted advertising.
- It is not shared with data brokers.
This is straightforward to guarantee for one reason: your habit records are stored on your device and are never transmitted to the developer, so there is nothing on our side to sell or share.
11.Data retention and deletion
You remain in control of how long your information exists.
- Locally stored data remains on your device until you remove it.
- The app provides a Delete All Data option, which clears your stored records.
- Clearing the app's storage in Android settings, or uninstalling the app, also removes local records — subject to any device backup you have configured.
- Support emails may be retained for a reasonable period for legitimate support, record-keeping and legal purposes.
- The developer cannot remotely delete information from your device, because that information is not held on any developer server. Deletion is something you perform, and it is final.
12.Security
Keeping habit data on the device — rather than on a server — removes an entire category of risk, since there is no central store to breach. Reasonable development practices are used in building and maintaining the app.
However, some honest limits apply:
- No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and no such guarantee is made here.
- Anyone with access to your unlocked device may be able to open the app and read your entries, so keeping your device secured with a screen lock matters.
- Data you export is only as protected as the destination you send it to.
13.Children's privacy
Quit Sweet is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. Because the core tracking information is stored locally and no account is required, the developer does not knowingly receive children's habit records through the app.
Parents or guardians who believe a child has sent personal information through a support message may contact us at support@syedshahbazhussain.com to request its deletion.
14.Health and medical disclaimer
Quit Sweet is a habit-tracking and motivational tool. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
- It is not a medical device.
- It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition.
- It does not provide emergency assistance of any kind.
- The craving support flow is a short reflective pause, not therapy or a clinical intervention.
Please consult a qualified professional for personal medical or nutritional guidance. If you need urgent assistance, contact your local emergency services.
15.International users
This website and the app may be accessed from many countries. Privacy rights and obligations differ between jurisdictions, and the rights available to you depend on where you live.
Because habit data stays on your device, much of what a data-protection request would normally cover is already directly under your control: you can view, export and delete your records yourself, at any time, without asking anyone. For questions about information you have sent us by email, contact the address in the Contact section.
No claim is made here to any specific compliance certification or formal accreditation that has not been independently established.
16.Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the app changes. Any revised version will be published on this page with an updated date at the top, so the current version is always the one you are reading here.
Material changes to how information is handled will be reflected here before or at the time the change takes effect.
